| 2003 Ford Thunderbird This model was inspired by the Ford Thunderbird that appeared in the 2002 James Bond movie 'Die Another Day'. There was a brief scene that featured this car, driven by the character Jinx (played by Halle Barry) (Yes, there is a car in the photograph). Ford actually released a limited edition of this car with James Bond accents and badging. The model is a snap kit from Revell that required a few modifications to get rid of the toy-like aspect. Base Kit(s): Revell Wheels of Fire new Thunderbird (kit number 85-1916) Finished: June 2023 Modifications/Additions: - opened up the opening in the lower front bumper and hood scoop - rear of grill was ground down and the holes opened up - headlight and taillight buckets were treated with Molotow chrome - side markers were made from clear sprue, followed by clear orange and red paint - exhaust pipe tips from Revell Mustang kit (2006) - flocking on interior floor and rear tray - seat belts and seat belt catches added - head rest removed from seat and posts added - (correct custom printed license plate will be added later) - windshield and rear window black surrounds were masked and airbrushed - interior paint is Wimbledon white (Canadian Tire), XF-63 German gray, both followed by semi-gloss clear, Alclad aluminum accent - body is automotive touch up paint that matches the actual Thunderbird colour, followed by Gunze clear, polished and waxed Click on Thumbnail to see detailed image.
