| Star Wars Royal Guard TIE Interceptor The Royal Guard was set up to protect the Emperor in the Star Wars universe. The TIE Interceptors they used were highly modified from the standard ships and painted in the distinctive Royal Guard Crimson. More information about these ships can be found in Wookiepedia (the Star Wars Wiki) Jim Botaitis of JBOT decals gave me two little winglets that he had resin cast. It took me a long time to convince myself to paint a TIE ship red! Base Kit(s): 1/72 scale Fine Molds TIE Interceptor (kit number SW5) Finished: February 2012 Modifications/Additions: - side winglets (courtesy Jim Botaitis of JBOT decals), with additional details - rebuilt front cannons with metal tubing - some aftermarket decals - Bare Metal Foil for markings on arms - Paint is Tamiya acrylics (X-7 red with a tiny drop of X-14 sky blue to give the crimson colour) followed by a dark wash Click on Thumbnail to see detailed image.
