Suzuki RG250 Barry Sheene Tribute There are a few photos on the internet of people who have painted their RG250 motorcycles in the same scheme as some of Barry Sheene's motorcycles. The livery of his 1976 world championship bike always appealed to me, which provided the inspiration for this build. Base Kit(s): Tamiya Suzuki RG250 Walter Wolf (kit number 14053) Finished: Oct 2024 Modifications/Additions: - modified fairing and bodywork to better match the GP500 motorcycle - filled in exhaust pipe vent in fairing - shortened trailing edge of fairing - added bodywork to lower front part of fairing - removed lower section of bodywork - filled in panel line to turn into single seater - removed passenger footpegs and mounts - photoetch brake disks (from Hasegawa Suzuki RG400 detal set) - 3D printed chain, from Falcon Scale Models - Most frame bolt heads replaced with Meng versions - Top Studio throttle cable and tire valves - Custom printed license plate - Various aftermarket and leftover decals - Instrument 'glass' uses clear two part epoxy (meant tor wood table tops) - Bodywork paint is Tamiya TS-26 pure white, TS-16 yellow, decanted & airbrushed, Tamiya LP-5 pure red, LP-1 black, airbrushed - Tamiya lacquer gloss aluminum and gold (frame and wheels) Alclad metallics (engine) and Tamiya acrylics (semi-gloss black) Click on Thumbnail to see detailed image.
