1969 MGB
This model was built for two events
- One of the car makes featured for the 2023 Dayton Concours d'Elegance (and model car display) was MG
- The 2023 Toronto Model Car Show theme was 'Topless'

This was built to depict a car owned by a friend of ours.  There were two issues that I have with the Aoshima kit:
- the stance was way too high and needed to be lowered
- almost all of Aoshima's car kits only come with one dashboard.  In this case, it was right hand drive and needed to be changed to
left hand drive.  Tamiya almost always supplies both right and left hand drive dashboards

Base Kit(s):    Aoshima MGB '66 rally car version (kit number 06126)

Finished:        September 2023

Modifications/Additions:
- stance was lowered about 3 mm in the front and 2.5 mm in the rear
-
vent in front of windshield was opened up
-
Bare Metal Foil for side trim and windshield
-
converted to left hand drive by removing all dashboard details and scratchbuilding instrument cluster and radio mount
-
woodgrain painted on radio mount and upper part of door panels
- door panels had scratchbuilt pulls, door handles and speakers

- flocking on interior floor and rear tray

- metal rivets on door panels and convertible roof cover

- seat belts added
-
scratchbuilt head rests
- custom printed license plate
-
aftermarket side mirrors added (not quite accurate)
- scratchbuilt stoplight on trunk lid

- body
paint is Tamiya lacquer TS-49 bright red, straight from the can
