
| Harley-Davidson Chopper (1:8 scale) I’ve always wanted to build a customized chopper with a stretched out, bobbed frame. The resulting model took a long time to build due to the frame construction. Base Kit(s): Revell 1/8 scale H-1240 L.A. Street Chopper (1971) Completed: sometime in 1984 Modifications/Additions: Molded gas tank into frame Added flat and curved panels to frame and molded to blend seams Molded rear fender into frame Scratchbuilt oil tank and covered in chrome foil Added electrical, brake and throttle cables using chrome covered thread Added various nuts and bolt head details Scratchbuilt seat and covered in fuzzy blue adhesive backed material Added removable ignition key Added 1978 Ontario license plate Painted using Testors white pearl base, blue candy and clear gloss to give scale metal flake effect Awards: ON-CON model contest, 1985, 1st place motorcycle Canadian National Model Car Contest, Toronto, 1986, 3rd place motorcycle Royal City Plastic Model Contest, 1989, 3rd place senior Shown in FineScale Modeler magazine Readers Gallery, June 1987 Runner up - Street Motorcycles and People's Choice winner, Supershow 2006 contest, Jan, 2006 Click on Thumbnail to see detailed image.
