This is the original AMT kit that is now very difficult to locate as the mold was changed or lost when AMT released (and multiple re-realeases) of the 1969 Cougar Base Kit(s): AMT 1967 Mercury Cougar (kit number 5327-170) Finished: September 2024 Modifications/Additions: - 1969 Cougar model kit chassis and engine - poseable steering added - shroud around radiator fan added - front valance was opened up, beneath bumper - aluminum exhaust tips - lowered suspension - flocked floor - some engine wiring, including hose clamps from Falcon Scale Models - Interior door handles and window cranks - modified photoetch items - custom printed license plate - aftermarket resin exterior door handles - Model Car Garage photoetch pieces from 1969 detail set - flattened back of rear taillights and added chrome mylar to bumper/light buckets to cover hole - interior paint is Tamiya LP insignia white, with dark grey inserts and bare metal foil trim - paint is Tamiya Mica Red from the can, followed by Splash 2K clear, polished and waxed Click on Thumbnail to see detailed image.
